Local composer to be broadcast on BBC Radio 3

Local composer Alice Trueman to have soundtrack broadcast on BBC Radio 3 this Sunday!
Wolverhampton born composer and Light House employee Alice Trueman has written an exciting new score for the first radio dramatisation of Girlfriend In A Coma, a modern classic by Douglas Coupland, the author of Generation X and Microserfs. The play will be broadcast this Sunday 24 February at 8.00 to 9.30pm on BBC Radio 3. The book has been adapted for radio by Sony-nominated Dan Rebellato and is produced and directed by Polly Thomas with whom Alice previously collaborated on the recent Radio 4 adaptation of Stanislaw Lem’s Solaris.
The story begins in 1979, when teenage Karen mysteriously falls into a coma. She remains this way for 18 years, during which time her daughter is born and her boyfriend, Richard, struggles to make a life without her. Suddenly, Karen comes round - a miracle recovery. She starts hearing voices in her head that tell her the world is about to end, but Karen doesn’t believe them until, one day, the entire population of the world falls into a permanent sleep and Karen is faced with a terrible choice…
The CD audiobook of Solaris, originally broadcast on Radio 4 last year, is now available to buy at amazon.co.uk
